January 20, 201016 yr Does anybody ever notice a deviation of the VOR needles? Actually I'm flying eastbound over Canada and recognize that the VOR needles not are pointing exactly towards the station. See the picture below. The NDBs seem to work properly. Does it have anything to do with the magnetic forces (67
January 20, 201016 yr Hi Denis, This can be caused because the needels tend to be drawn to your cup of coffee on your desk, move it aways from you monitor and try that.Ok, of course that was a joke :)I would think it would be more related to an addon scenery, afcad personally. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
January 21, 201016 yr There are altitude restrictions to using VOR navigation which kick in from about 18,000ft though I do not know how well this is simulated. Paul Smith.
January 21, 201016 yr Author Yes, there are altitude restrictions. But in my case the VOR needles seem to be shifted some dozen counterclockwise. Can't believe it has to with the unreliability of the VOR recieving in high altitudes. Maybe a FS-problem (AFCAD as Turbine777 mentioned).Does anybody of the developers could say if it has to do with a intentional VOR behavoir modelling?
