TSS MD11 Sound

Featured Replies

Would anyone recommended using the TSS PW GE sounds for the FSX version of the MD11? I think the original sounds are great, I was just wondering since sound is the only thing TSS focuses on, if they perhaps made the sound for the MD11 a little more special.

Ian,while the OUTSIDE sounds from TSS might be nice work, the cockpit sounds in most cases are not. Listening to the video provided on the Simmarket page I can assure you that those cockpit sounds for the MD-11 do not resemble the real MD-11 in any way. We've used a Level-D Simulator to record the MD-11 and help us create what you hear now, TSS obviously did not do that nor did they record from a real flight deck.So if you want maximum realism, stay away from TSS if you've already got sound with an add-on. Honestly I have no idea why so many people keep praising their products as being top-class in the industry... Again, outside sounds might be ok, but their cockpit sounds are just plain wrong...Markus

I have to agree, I'm amazed that people purchase these sound packs. You can actually get better freeware here on Avsim.

ok thanks guys, I was a little hesitant because the sound right now was so good for the MD11, this package from tss would probably good for a MD11 that is freeware or of lesser detail then PMDG, thanks again.

The only thing I'm missing from the PMDG package is the lack of sound for the APU and reverse trust (extern). I bought the TSS for the 73NG, but had it off my system within a couple of minutes again... Like mentioned above, at AVSIM you can get a lot for free. For the MD11 you won't need it.John
