January 25, 201016 yr Hello,Would it be possible to implement 3D gauges into carenado planes? It would be nice to have silky smooth gauges, that look very nice at the same time. I belive the only developers that use 3D gauges on their planes, are PMDG and Real air. It would be awesome if Carenado could make 3d gauges, and maybe even make an update for 3D gauges. Just an idea :( CheersAlex Alexander Michael
January 26, 201016 yr Author Still i think the 3D gauges are worth the extra delay. Who doesn't like silky smooth gauges?CheersAlex Alexander Michael
January 26, 201016 yr I like them but I think Carenado does a good job getting planes out quickly. I would prefer simple FPS friendly Carenado planes... | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
January 27, 201016 yr Commercial Member We have thought many times about this issue, but we still prefer 2D gauges for several reasons. The most important two are speed of development and possibility to put them as pop us which is a very good feature among our customers.Carenado
January 27, 201016 yr Also, some of us like to configure our panels, and swap gauges out for RXP units etc. For me, Carenado's 2D gauges are always a plus from this aspect (and here I get annoyed at the 3D knobs on the radio stack...)If you went to 3D gauges a la RealAir, we'd be asking you for a panel configurator to go with it (switchable HSI/DI, Nav gauges, autopilot etc -- see the RealAir Scout package as an example)
