March 19, 201016 yr Hi all,'The next guy' could be here...I bought RC4 at the end of last year and love it. Thank you.I haven't flown much in the intervening period: tutorials and a bit of what you might call orientation but came last night across what may be a problem. I use Ultimate Traffic and little besides, on FS9, XP SP3, on a standalone PC. I have no Inet and no malware protection, relying on the very anal network and virus-checking at work so I don't think anything else interferes with flights.I set up a flight & plan in the stock Mooney, IFR in a straight line from GAMB to GAMA, in Mali. There is no parking spot or gate in the stock GAMB so I had added one Gate-Small using Afcad221 (the utility's checker showed no problems), then an Ultimate Traffic recompile and a RC4 database rebuild. On starting RC4 & maximising FS9 again the first thing I heard was a mystery voice saying, 'One'. I think he repeated himself every 2 minutes during the flight. Everything else about the flight appeared normal: frequencies, weather, ATC instructions, chatter et c.I did notice there was no option 1 on the initial RC4 menu in FS9 but haven't acquired enough experience to know whether that is a fault... The mystery voice obviously is as the tutorial flights run without a hitch. What have I done wrong? Feel free to reply with 'RTFM' but could you point me at the appropriate page? Thanks for a superb improvement to the FS.Dp. s. it may take me a while to respond to a reply- no internet at home (& no FS9 at work). Dunno which is worse!
March 20, 201016 yr Hmm...Maybe I should start a separate thread for this; it seems to be a different problem.I realise now the available menu options are context specific so that's become irrelevant. The mystery voice shuts up if I disable pre-recorded chatter, which is a good thing but I suppose that may be masking something else that is wrong. It speaks also (with pre-rec enabled) if I fly IFR from GAMA to GABS, starting before I have a chance to call FSS, so I guess it's not the airport that's to blame. Interestingly, I hear no pre-rec on either flight, though I don't know how popular Senou is with other aircraft. Pre-rec sound fine in the tutorial flights.Look forward to reading your thoughts.D
