How do we convert Flight Plans with ".PLN" to ".rt2" ?

Featured Replies

In trying to get to grips with the FS Commander's "Saving and loading Flight Plans". I've hit a barrier by being unable to overcome the problem of "FS Commander" producing Plans that end with .PLN while the 747 PMDG Plans require the saved Plans to end in .rt2.I confirm that I've ticked the PMDG box when saving.I would appreciate help.Cliff

Yes, I am. Is that the cause of the problem? And, if so, is there a solution?Cliff

Hello Cliffyes W7 and where you have FScommander installed to is the problem. Please read this topic over at the FScommander forumWindows 7 Users please read :http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?f=155&t=78476
Thanks for hanging in here with me. FS Commander is indeed in it's own folder in C:\. Do you think the problem may be solved by uninstalling FS Commander then installing it again while "User Account Controller" is turned off by moving the slider to the Never notify position, and then clicking OK.? Regards................Cliff

Hello CliffUninstall FSC then reinstall "for all users" into C:\FSC , run the installer as Admin. FSX is better outside of Program Files(x86) as well.Run the database tool and confirm that it has found the correct path and compiles the database.Run FSC and goto Window>Options>Flightplan tab , confirm that the option at the top is selected and the correct path to FSX is shown.Make a plan and go to Flightplan>save asClick on the long "goto FS flightplan directory button" and confirm that it changes to your FSX flightplan directory.Tick PMDG and save.your plan should now be in FSX/PMDG/Flightplans folder. If this does not work, post in the FScommander forum they will sort it out for you.

You're a Prince Mad Dog.I'm going to follow your advice to uninstall FSX and reinstall it directly into C:\ FC Commander is currently in C:\. but I'll uninstall and reinstall it too. And, of course, I'll try to follow your guidance you've given me.After that I'll revert with the results if I may. With my regards and thanks.................Cliff

While trying to reinstall FSX I was not being able to complete the installation due, I think, to a scratch on the second disk which I can't clean off well enough to continue. Hence I've ordered another set (Bah!). So there'll be a delay before I report back to you.A question please. I have both SP1 and SP2 waiting to install once FSX is installed in C:\. In the past I've selected RUN and they've installed with no problem. But as FSX will no longer be in Program Files will they automatically find it in C:\?Or should I move them into the FSX folder and select RUN from there?Regards....................Cliff

Hello Cliffthe service packs will pick up the FSX location from the registry, if not you can always browse to the FSX location.
