February 1, 201016 yr I'd welcome step-by-step advice on creating a transparent blurred propellor disc for FSX + Acceleration using GMax and the FSX Gamepack.I've googled and tried everything I can think of. I've set the animation and the visibility using the FSX tools in GMax and created DXT3 bitmaps with alpha channels, played with transparency and opacity setting in the Material Editor etc etc..Nothing works - I always get a completely opaque disk.EDIT: I've also tried the gmax file from the Laird air racer tutorial looking for clues but it won't load. It get an unhelpful error message "File open failed;" followed by the path and file - FSX Laird Air Racer 003.gmax! Gerry Howard
February 2, 201016 yr Moderator Did you set the Framebuffer Blend option to "Set Default Transparent" in your FSX Material? The Blinn opacity control won't work without it... Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

I've now got a transparent propellor I can play with.BTW I have the ESP SDK on my favorites and have noticed that hovering the mouse by the material images no longer has any effect on them! February 3, 201016 yr Moderator I have the Acceleration SDK installed locally, so I use that instead. I've occasionally gone to the ESP SDK web version to check if there's anything newer than what's in the "delivered" version from the disk. Fr.
