Animated pilots

Recommended Posts

My pilots don't move, they don't do as much as even blink and yet the product page for the -800 model states 'Animated pilots'...hmm...?Then while talking about animations I was not able to open the door between the cockpit and cabin on my last flight in the -800 model, not sure if it was just a one-time-thing or did anyone else notice this too?

My pilots are drinking Premiere Cru in the Upper Class lounge. This might only be the Virgin livery, though.

You need to have "advanced animations" enabled under options>Display for the pilot animations to work. As for the cockpit door, it has been welded shut to increase performance in the VC (and to protect the pilots from rapid decompression)
How do you add the crew? They dont appear at all in my VC's?
You are the crew! Feel the power :( (the animated pilots the OP is referring to can only be seen in spot view)

Thanks for your prompt reply Vin!I do have advanced animations checked in FSX display settings and I might add that the animated pilots effect works just fine in both the J 4100 and the MD-11.This isn't really a big issue but if it's supposed to work of course it would be nice to have the effect since it is one of those small things that add to the realistic feeling.

Hi.I have found that the Fs2crew panel.cfg kills the pilot animation and the front wheel animation in the B747-8i pax version. Reverting back to the original panel.cfg brings the animations back. Is this issue something for Bryan, or is it something with the -8i model? I can't see any differenses in the panel.cfg exept for the Fs2crew entries, so I'm lost at this stage.Rune Brauten

Ahh.. yes, this makes good sense, as certain gauges were added to the panel.cfg, which are not present in the older panel.cfg used by FS2Crew.We'll contact FS2Crew and see if we can get a fix issues for this.-For those who are not using FS2Crew, if you have your VC disabled in the PMDG 747-400 Load Manager, you will also lose these animations. This will be addressed in an upcoming hotfix.
