February 8, 201016 yr Does anyone know how to start the EH-101 from cold and dark? I have all the switches in the off position, and then using the checklist to start the APU, I switch the battery on, and then as soon as I switch the master start on, the engines all start up. I don't have to proceed any further on the checklist. It is like the master start switch is Ctrl-E.Is there any other way to start the engines individually? Here is the checklist for the start sequence. ENGINE START APU START SEQ: [ ] Battery ON[ ] Master Start ON[ ] APU ON[ ] Bleed OFF[ ] APU START ENGINE START FROM APU: [ ] Bleed SET TO APU[ ] Engine 1 Fuel ON[ ] Engine 1 Fuel Boost ON[ ] Rotor Brake OFF[ ] Engine 1 SET TO GI[ ] Engine 1 (on start) SET TO FLIGHT [ ] Engine 2 Fuel ON[ ] Engine 2 Fuel Boost ON[ ] Rotor Brake OFF[ ] Engine 2 SET TO GI[ ] Engine 2 (on start) SET TO FLIGHT [ ] Engine 3 Fuel ON[ ] Engine 3 Fuel Boost ON[ ] Rotor Brake OFF[ ] Engine 3 SET TO GI[ ] Engine 3 (on start) SET TO FLIGHT [ ] APU OFF[ ] Bleed OFF[ ] Generator 1 OFF[ ] Generator 2 OFF[ ] Master Start OFF ENGINE START FROM OTHER ENGINE: [ ] Bleed SET TO ENG[ ] Follow procedures above Thanks,Bill

February 14, 201016 yr Author One odd thing I have found, is if I switch on the fuel shut off switches before start, after the initial start using the master start switch where everything starts up, I can shut off the engines with the fuel shut-off switches. Then leaving the master start switch in the on position, and switch on each fuel shut off switch, I can start the engines individually with the applicable engine start switch. No matter what I do though, the initial cold and dark start requires the master start switch to be on, and as soon as it is switched on, everything starts up. The APU switches don't seem to do anything.Bill
February 14, 201016 yr You have probably altered the cfg to make it flyable, right?! I had an issue once where I couldn't get it running from cold dark after altering the cfg. I reinserted the original backup, changed the settings in question again, cold start was possible again. Must've accidentally changed something.
