July 28, 200322 yr I have the chance to get a Geforce4 TI4200. I now have a Quadro2 Pro with 32megs or ram. Is this a good upgrade? Will I see a performance increase with this? I have a Dell XPS500 upgrades to a Tualatin 1.4 with 384megs of ram. I also was thinking of buying a 512meg chip & replacing one of my 128megs. What do you guys think? Flight Sim is all I play & my son uses the computer for Star Wars Galaxies. Thanks for any input.Pat Callaghan Pat Callaghan Jr. Ryzen 9-9900x Asus Tuf Gaming 870x 64gig DDR5 ram, RTX 4070 Super Win 11 Pro
July 28, 200322 yr Author The Quadro is a poor card for any gaming appication. The 4200 would offer much better performance. And additional RAM almost always helps (just don't go over 512MB if you're running Win98). But, there is always one of those, as with all things Dell, be SURE the machine will take the upgrades before buying anything.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage.
