If set to XMP, it changes automatically the QPI/DRAM Core Voltage to 1.35.
Word Not Allowed,In looking at what memory you have I am not sure what all settings I can help you with beyond some basic things that you probably already know, but I will share some BIOS settings that you can try for increased O/C headroom and stability to try.Though we share the same board comparatively I am trying to stretch things in a different way as 12GB usually chokes a good overclock and the memory I am using was bought with that in mind. You have the advantage of running just 3 dims, but you are restricted to some BLK to Memory divider ratios and timings that I'm not. My Ram is rated for a frequency of 2000 @ 8-8-8-24 1.6v with QPI of 1.6v (XMP) or titer and titer timings at lower frequencies at lower 1.5v settings. So I took some of your timings and did some benching and saw nothing that speaks of any disadvantage when running FSX. In the back of your mind you may whish you could run tighter 6CL timings but I wouldn't worry about it too much. I ran various scenarios of FSX running in HQ modes with an F16 at ground level 500kts on dense landclass and photoreal terrain and saw solid terrain, no blurring with either timings as well as panned all out side and VC views. There were no FPS increases to write home about. (Was using a LOD Radius of 8.500000)Technically we all know there is an advantage to tighter timings; I'm just saying that the difference between 6CL and 7CL in the real world was not showing up in FSX as its made out to be. You can probably eek out a bit more from your memory if you feel you need to by simple trial and err.You mentioned your XMP profile had set QPI at 1.35v and that is good, remember that if you go to manual mode, which in that case you can set QPI to auto or manually set back up to 1.35V as stock is 1.2V. This is the uncore L3 memory controller and is tied to actual Dram voltage and the relationship of the uncore to frequency overclocks of the CPU.Note that on the 2000 speed XMP profiles on my Patriot kit it set BLK and bumped the divider while also setting QPI at 1.6V. Rule of thumb is always maintain .5V or less between Dram-v and QPI-vRest of settings under AI tweakerI was manually setting CPU PLL, IOH and ICH voltages, but feedback from other overclockers is that this board is doing a very nice job on Auto settings so that is were these all are for now.PCIE Frequency = 105 (leave on auto until everything else is set and then test and bench as needed, some boards are unstable at higher BLKs of 210 and above and will drop LAN until this is increased, I had no issues with LAN but have always boosted the lanes, so explore at your own risk to stability)Load-Line Calibration = EnabledCPU differential Amplitude = 800mV (or leave auto)CPU clock Skew=AutoCPU Spread Spectrum=DISABLEDIOH Clock Skew=AutoPCIE Spread Spectrum=DISABLEDIn the Advanced

Well I finally received my board on Thursday and began the assembly. As I was putting it in the Case I noticed that it was missing the screws to hold down the small portions of the Heatsink assembly around the CPU (The board came with only 2 out of the required 6 installed). I contacted ASUS and they immediately put the srews in the mail (Great Customer Service from ASUS ESTORE). In the end though I contacted Newegg for an RMA and they are cross shipping me a new board. I decided that I did not want to take a risk of the board being further damaged by the heatsink moving around free. The new board is scheduled for delivery on Tuesday I will let you know how that turns out, I am so excited to get it up and running!!!Jeremy

Yeah sure, I just didn't get around to my computer two past days - I was working all day yesterday, in the evening we went to the birthday party and now I just woke up, and we are going for a breakfast with some friends. Probably today afternoon when I'll be able to do some research into the latest posts...

I got my board last night and I am up to 4.0 with it after about 20 minutes of OC. I am on pass 15 of 20 on very high IBT. Max temps so far are 62 61 61 56. OC is as follows 191x21, core voltage is at 1.248, HT is off. I love this board, CPU, Heatsink combo. :( I will run Prime and a few others but I think this is going to be an easy 4.0. I may even push it to 4.2 and see what happens.http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1039634

Glad you are up and running and like the board!BTW, HT=On has not held me back so far, though FSX doesn't use it, its there for everything else.Paul,

Yes my plan is to turn HT on after I get a stable Clock. I want to test it with and with out the HT and see what the heat differential is. My setup is in an armoire so it is not the most friendly environment.

I also did the settings Paul advised, in fact, I already had them all set up. Thanks for suggestions!I still didn't get to reading all those posts you posted, but I think if it's working well now, I won't change it - getting 0,1ghz out of the current system won't yield anything sensible speedwise, only more temperature.

Just a heads up that the latest 0702 BIOS was pulled for issues with The ASUS O/C software TurboV (I do all my O/C from the BIOS, though TV can come in handy for finding what settings work for what on the fly). The replacement 0703 will be posted on the 27th, but If you want it now get it here:http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA136...M-ASUS-0703.zip

You must be watching this thread http://www.overclock.net/intel-motherboard...ium-thread.html I just saw that myself. That is the greatest P6X58D thread in existence!! A pic of my rig is in post 594 http://www.overclock.net/8580912-post594.html :( I still have some wire management to do but it is almost there.

No, it was posted in a ASUS beta forum and seems to be working well.I'll have to check out your post.Cheers!

Ahh ok, I saw your post just after I saw it over at overclock.net. In any case OC is a great place to find great info about all things computer related. I did not find it until I was doing my P6X58D research.

Nice rig you got there!!!I have some tweaking suggestions I'll be posting that I hope both you and Word Not Allowed can try and then report on, You wont find them mentioned mostly anywhere and probably only relates to FSX. Has to do with smooth flight and memory managment, there might be some surprises here.Try to take a guess at this often overlooked (and scorned) BIOS adjustment....???I dont think it wise to post untill after putting all the results together, so I with-hold for now.

I'm game, I have not put FSX back on yet but will be over the weekend. I plan do actually fly on FS9 tonight for the first time in months.
