February 18, 201016 yr Hello folks,I was a hardcore FS9 user until recently, when I purchased the Captain Sim Boeing 767. Already had the Boeing 757 for FS9, which runs flawless on my FS9 installation. So I am really starting to like the improvement FSX brings in the visual department (self-casting shadows, darker nights and a great night sky and most of all the detailed ground rendering up to the horizon). Honestly, I feel like I am more and more inclined to stay with FSX. However, in order to have this happen, I need to get rid of some nasty problems I am having in FSX to enjoy it fully.First, this may sound a tad silly question, but how exactly can I determine whether I have the SP1 and or SP2 installed. I purchased FSX Professional bundled with the Acceleration Expansion Pack, called the Gold Edition. My fsx.exe shows version 10.0.61637.0 (FSX-Xpack.20070926-1421). Am I correct that this bundle does not include any service packs? Thanks for any help for someone really wanting to use FSX from now on!Cheers,Rafael System specs: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; Intel Core i7 3770 @ 3.40GHz; 16,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 802MHz; 8 GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (NVIDIA)
February 18, 201016 yr Hi Rafael,With FSX and Acceleration like you have, it will have installed all the service packs, so you are running the latest version. Klas Member of AVSIM's Around the World Race Team

Though your question about the version number is a good one. I never really checked what the version no. becomes after SP1 and then after the acceleration pack which should include SP2.John I love flying my "iddy biddy Jumbo" CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, socket 775/3GHz/1333MHz bus/6MB cache MOBO: Asus P5E3 Deluxe WiFi-AP@n/Intel X38 chipset RAM: 4GB Kingston HyperX 1333MHz. rated 7-7-7-20, matched pair (2 x 2GB) GRAPHICS: Sapphire Radeon 5770HD 1GB (w/ fan) MONITOR: Samsung 24", 2494HM LCD wide-screen 1920x1080 SOUND: SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS HARD DRIVES: 1xWestern Digital WD1600JD SATA 160GB (primary/Windows XP and system boot drive) 1xWestern Digital WD3200AAJS SATA2 320GB (secondary/Flight Simulator 2004 running off WinXP Pro 32-bit, games video editing drive) 1xWestern Digital 500GB Black series SATA2 (Windows 7 64-bit: FSX is running off Win7; Windows XP Professional 32-bit) CASE: Antec Sonata III 500W OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit for FSX; Windows XP Pro 32-bit for other things.
February 18, 201016 yr Hi FolksDieselTen -As Rafael has indicatedAcceleration includes the SP2 components.Your quoted version number confirms that you have installed the appropriate SPs.For a list of the FSX executable's version numbersplease see the version table at FSDeveloper - Wiki - SDK Installation (FSX)HTHATBPaul ODG Preview
February 23, 201016 yr Author Thanks to all three of you for your helpful replies!Though this is some bad news due to the unresolved issues I'm having with the CS Boeing 767, which I hoped to be a result of missing ServicePacks. Well, I sent a Ticket to CS, which was already accepted for further investigation.Again, thanks for your quick help!
