Banded sky

Recommended Posts

Hi all,I've almost finished beating the new graphics card into shape. (Thank you Stuart for the PM). There's just one unresolved problem: the sky is streaked and the ground textures have distinct steps in the colour gradient, as though my monitor is set to 16-bit colour. The card's a Sapphire ATI radeon, 3650 I think, with the usual Catalyst Control Centre UI.I recall seeing mention here of a banded sky and wonder if anyone ever found a solution.I'd like to get it fixed as I quite fancy a go at enhancing rules.txt to go with Jonathan's new textures, and I think the smoothing of the sky would provide the necessary boost to my motivation (still missing the old Nvidia...)Any suggestions would be appreciated.D

Hi Dave,Hope the PM was of use [ no, not Gordon Brown !].I also get a banded effect in the sky. I find moving the haze slider a tad to the right helps, it's probably a more realistic look anyway..A trip into my town in the UK today and in the local Game store [ which I check for FS9 add-ons occasionally] were some spanking new copies of good old FU3 for sale - might get a few more converts on board yet ! :( Regards to all.Stuart
