February 26, 201016 yr GreetingsI'm using the PSS panel w/the Overland A330. But let's get down to business, the overland VC (lets face it, its the best one so far). I would like the PSS gauges to show up on the VC so that it would be a good realistic VC for the A330. any help? Also, if this works, is there any way to make the PSS 777 gauges appear on the Overland 777 VC?
February 26, 201016 yr You may edit the VcockpitXX sections in the panel.cfg file, and replace the Overland gauge filenames in the CFG with the PSS ones. Let's hope you have 2 or less VcockpitXX sections. Hope this helps.Best regards from Colombia,Luis Miguel Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. February 27, 201016 yr Author My advise would be to get panel studio , this took two minutes , although it still needs some fine alignment Markhi, i do have panel studio, i just do not know how to use it very well, im new to this, but can you give clear steps on how to do this? to make the PSS gauges show up on A330 VC? BTW, that looks really good mate! :(
February 27, 201016 yr Okay What i did was to rename the original SMS A330 panel folder ( you will need the config later )Then go to the PSSAB pro panel and copy the folder Panel.330 to your SMS A330 aircraft folder, and rename it Panel.Don't just Alias the PSS panel to the SMS aircraft .Once that is done you have the PSS 2D panels , but no VC gauges .This bit could get confusing Open up your brand new SMS panel config This will actually read as the PSS panel Scroll down to the VC sections [VCockpit01] and so on and delete them .Now open up the original SMS panel cfg from the original SMS panel folder( the one you renamed right ?) and select all the VCcockpit panel entries and copy and paste into your Brand new panel config .If that has made any sense so far you should now have in the sim A PSS 2D panel and the original SMS vc cockpit complete with SMS gauges .Now open panel studio , open up the original PSSABpro panel config ( not the one you have pasted into your brand new SMS panel config ) This will give the original untouched panel for the PSSOpen the VC cockpit01 and along the top are the four primary displays you want to use .If you double click on the gauge you will get a description of what it is The top left gauge is the PSS-A330!PFDVCv copy that gauge then open up your brand new SMS panel config .open up Vcockpit02 and you will see the four original SMS gauges .Click on them for a description so you know what to replace.Delete the SMS PFD gauge and paste the PSS PFD gauge in its place . you will have to adjust the size slightly . Save Try it in the sim and see if the gauge is showing in the vc . if it is then just repeat the process for any gauge you wish to replace . IF it has not worked then the chances are 1. I have missed something in the instructions2. the instructions are too confusing :( 3. you have missed something :( If all else fails then I can send you the "Brand new SMS panel folder" and you can then fine tune the gauges your self , but I recommend learning how to get the most out of panel studio if you have it .I have found that the best way to merge panels is to do it this way as you get the 2d panel to begin with and the original VC gauges which then act as a guide for positioning new replacement gauges .it may not be pretty but it works for me .Also don't forget this is only a panel and gauge swap , there may be quite a few things that don't work , so good luck Mark
March 11, 201016 yr Please answer me a question: are you the same one who made this question in Flightsim.com's forums? If so, I suggest you to change the "title=" line in your aircraft.cfg so you may not have the 4 engine gauges in an A330. Just put a similar title to the original PSS one... I mean, copy the title from your PSS's aircraft.cfg and change only the airline part of the title for whatever you want. Maybe PSS reads this line in order to select the right gauge setup.Best regards from Colombia,Luis Miguel Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. March 12, 201016 yr Hi Luis I just tried your suggestion out of curiosity , unfortunately it did not work It is the strangest thing , if like mine your sim is set up to start with the default flight at KSEA then when you just select the SMS/PSS merged AC and start the sim you have two engine gauges .BUT start the sim with same deault flight select SMS/PSS merge and a different airport ,EGLL for example , then you end up with the four gauge problem .To be honest I am not concerned about it as I don't use this merge , but I am curious to know why changing the airport affects the gauge selection
