Mooney's Tinted Windows

Featured Replies

Hi,I'm probably late coming to the party on this one but I have just purchased the Mooney from Carenado. My only complaint about the plane is the tinted windows. Makes everything look green, or at least have a greenish tint. Upon reading a review from VOZ on Carenado's website, he states that he got rid of the green tint by renaming the WindowsInt. bmp file in the texture folder. He places a semicolon in front of the file name. When I do that, my windows turn completely black and I can't see out at all. Anyone else try this fix and have any success? I'm using FSX and Win 7 64.Thanks.Jim

Jim,If you email Carenado, they may send you a clear window patch-besure to include your order #.Hope that helps.

Not so sure on that one Sky... I e mailed Carenado for the Cherokee window fix...Included my order number....Was blanked...not impressed in the slightest!!Dave

Not sure what you're saying Dave..Carenado has sent me Clear window patches for serveral of my FSX planes...not sure about the mooney, but it is likely. The dark windows appearing after you rename the window file is a classic trademark of a FS9 ported to FSX. Are you using the FS9 model with the FSX patch or the Full FSX Mooney...that maybe the problem your encountering. They offer 2 Mooney for sale..one for FS9, and an upgrade for those who bought that, and wish to fly it in FSX, or one that is specifically built for FSX known comonly to us as FULL FSX from Carenado. What I have done to mine, is simply remove the windows file completely and it has taken ALL tint including reflections from the interior windows, (This was done in the FULL FSX models). You are unable to do this in the FS9 ones, as soon as you remove that file....grey or black patches appear...I would respond directly with Fernando at Carenado with a solution for you...(If you know for sure your running the FULL FSX model I maybe to help you tho)
