Basically autogen and scenery does seem to pop in so would the extra 512mb on the 9800gt improve much. Also would FPS possibly go up. Thanks

It may help with texture loading, but your dual core processor is as much of a culprit here as the amount of video RAM.

Popping autogen is a "feature" of FSX... unfortunately.

I would get neither. The 9800 and 8800 Cards are dead. Anything lower than a GTS250 is a waste of money and most certainly not future proofing of your setup.The GTX 260 handles large resolutions much better than a 98 or 88 card.
