March 2, 201016 yr I had updated ASE on preexisting ASA.Today I uninstalled ASA / ASE and reinstalled full ASE ex novo (without ASA).I also deleted the FS9 options. It seems that now it works fine (it seems....).

I used the free ASE upgrade from ASA which I use on both FS9 & FSX and it works on both. However, the FS9 cloud popping is still there for me :( Could you please clarify? No offence intended - I might just be a bit slow today. Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

March 2, 201016 yr I'm not sure what you mean. Should I erase asa and ase then reinstall ase by itself, not sure I want to do that.Thanksanthony Anthony Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHZ, 32 GB ram, win 11, gtx 4070 Super

March 3, 201016 yr That way, I solved all the problems of sudden appearance / disappearance of the clouds layers with FS9.GoodbyeSo I would ask Jim as I know he does not get the high level clouds, Jim, did you do a full install or upgrade? I am wondering if that could be part of the issue...-Paul Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
March 3, 201016 yr So I would ask Jim as I know he does not get the high level clouds, Jim, did you do a full install or upgrade? I am wondering if that could be part of the issue...-PaulPaul, I too await his response as I am having this problem as well as clouds at cruise altitude on a constant basis. I never had ASA, but I did however have and used AS6 religiously prior to installing ASE.Mitch
March 3, 201016 yr Hi All,I had done the Full install after uninstalling ASA and manually deleteing the 2 ASA folders left behind.ASv6.5 is still installed on the computer. And is run and used when there is an issue that needs to be checked out.

I will try to do the complete rip and replace tomorrow and see if that helps,-P Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
March 3, 201016 yr With NEW installation (no upgrade but ASE full) in my FS9 cloud popping is magically just a bad memory of pastThanks, understood now.So is there a difference between the upgrade version and the full version of ASE? Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
March 3, 201016 yr Thanks, understood now.So is there a difference between the upgrade version and the full version of ASE?I would think there has to be some difference because I know Jim said with the upgrade you can't uninstall ASA as ASE needs it but with the full version he deleted all remnants of ASA....Just my .02 though, I do not know for sure,-Paul Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
March 4, 201016 yr Hi All,I had done the Full install after uninstalling ASA and manually deleteing the 2 ASA folders left behind.ASv6.5 is still installed on the computer. And is run and used when there is an issue that needs to be checked out.Jim, I did a full install of ASE. Previously used AS6. After having continuing problems with ASE, I attempted to load AS6 again and found that all my options had been deleted. I run both programs over a LAN via WideFS. I'm curious though why ASE would eliminate all my settings in AS6. I even had to remap the LAN path. Many thanks,Mitch
March 4, 201016 yr Mitch,I just ran my ASv6.5 after installing ASE and nothing was touched or changed, so really not sure.
