March 5, 201016 yr RC Crew,I've noticed that whenever RC (v 4.3) assigns me a squawk code beginning with 5 (i.e. 5313), my FS9 crashes to the desktop. This usually occurs when being handed off from departure to departure or center (usually above 10,000). This only seems to happen with a squawk 5XXX code. Am I crazy or is there some sort of fault or bug? If I receive any other squawk, I can complete even the longest flights without any issues. Any suggestions? Justin

Justinthe 5 is probably a conincidencethe crash to desktops is often caused by the arrival atis frequency being the same as another frequency in another part of your flight. this is an fs9 bug that has been there before rcwhat version of fsuipc do you have? some of the later versions i think fix this problemalso, you can change the arrival atis frequency to something else, in rc prior to clicking start rc buttonjd JD Read my blog
March 5, 201016 yr The fix jd refers to is for FS9 in FSUIPC3 current versions (download links at the top of this forum). It is on page 11 of the user guide of the manual downloaded with FSUIPC, link at the forum top. It will be in your modules folderIf you are not using FS ATC for commands backup FSUIPC.INI to another folder. Then without FS running in the [General] section using Notepad or other text editor add the line:RemoveATC=YesWhile not specifically detailed it is stated that this may also fix other ATC.dll crashes when not using FS ATC. Adding this statement will not affect AI operations.
March 5, 201016 yr Author Thanks guys. I will give those suggestions and explanations a try, I should hopefully be able to fiddle around with it tomorrow.I'll report back my findings.Re: my FSUIPC version, I'll have to check when I get home. I just upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit, so everything is freshly installed. I don't know whether my FSUIPC is old though.Justin
