ASE-What am i doing wrong!

Featured Replies

Ok, I cannot ever see the "depiction" lit at the bottom of ASE to show me it is importing into FSX. I also can never get flightwatch to tell me my destination wx. The steps I use is, I start ASE, go to the briefing tab, type in my flight plan, hit process. It asks if I want to load a snapshot of graphics which I dont so I hit cancel. Then I start FSX. The weather is showing in FSX but when I go back to ASE, hit the refresh button, I get at the bottom, Download active, then synthesis active, then nothing! I never see depiction lit at all. I also when tuning to 122.00 never get the destination weather, just whatever station I am closest to. What am I doing wrong?

To listen to your destination forecast it 122.02 and you must have filed a flightplan.

Hi Eric,Is this a single computer install or network install?

Jim, single computer. However ASE is on one HD and FSX on another.

Hi,From what you can tell are the weather conditions matchng up?

JIm,So far from what I can tell they seem to be for the most part. However, this morning while flying into KFLL around 1530Z using real time wx, I was at 8000ft when the wind suddenly went from 5kts to 114kts. This was with DWC enabled in ASE and gust/turblence checked to suppress via FSUIPC. Upon getting to 5000ft, the winds went back to 5kt. Very odd no? I have been watching the bottom of ASE when doing a manual refresh and never see the depiction verbage.

Eric,That could have been a one time data issue. It's possible that none of the data changed so no depiction output was necessary.

But Jim, should not the depiction be visible on initial input into FSX at the start of the program?

Hi,Start AS, let things load, start FSX, wait 5-10 minutes. Close things down and post the ASE_Log.txt file.

Jim,See attached ASE log text file. Thanks.

Hi Eric,During that sessing you sent me the log for, was FSX running at any time? Are you using the FSX icon to start FSX or the icon on ASE to start FSX?

Yes, FSX was running. I use the icon within ASE to start it. But I have used the main FSX icon as well with no difference.

Hi,Yes, I see now that FSX started and that ASE did deliver the data to FSX and that process finished as well.Anything else FS-wise running besides FS and AS?Do you have FSUIPC 4 installed? No, it is not necessary to have that installed, but if it is, is it set to default settings and weather settings off?

  • Author

Yes, FSUIPC4 installed, wx settings off. Only other thing is TrackIR. When you mean default settings for fsuipc, are you referring to just the wx settings?
