March 8, 201016 yr Hi there :( I have a few questions about FSX :1) - So i know that a big LOD radius use CPU but what about memory, does it use the GPU one or the system ram ?2) - Have I to change something on Win7 64 to allow 4 Go to FSX, like a command line ? Can i allow more, like 6 Go?3) - Is there a way to make the texture fade "when change resolution" rather than brutally snap ?4) - Does the mesh use the same logic and hardware than textures ?5) - Is FS connect an independent running application or it's part of FSX and have the same memory limitation ?6) - Anybody know or have a link for the high textures range between LOD 4.5 > LOD 6.5 or more ?7) - Is there a way to give bigger LOD radius or priority to meshes only, rather than meshes/textures couple ?CheersBenjamin
March 8, 201016 yr Hi there :( I have a few questions about FSX :1) - So i know that a big LOD radius use CPU but what about memory, does it use the GPU one or the system ram ?There was a fair amount of discussion about this a year or two ago... maybe it can still be found on the forum..Increasing LOD above the "official max" of 4.5 loads dramatically more scenery into memory. Suggest you run a testwith the process monitor running to see how much (RAM and VRAM) it loads on your system.2) - Have I to change something on Win7 64 to allow 4 Go to FSX, like a command line ? Can i allow more, like 6 Go?Are you asking about RAM - GB? FSX will use what you have, up to the limit of a 32 bit application (4GB?)3) - Is there a way to make the texture fade "when change resolution" rather than brutally snap ?Unfortunately, No.4) - Does the mesh use the same logic and hardware than textures ???5) - Is FS connect an independent running application or it's part of FSX and have the same memory limitation ?Don't know6) - Anybody know or have a link for the high textures range between LOD 4.5 > LOD 6.5 or more ?LOD > 4.5 means increasing the scenery radius that will be loaded7) - Is there a way to give bigger LOD radius or priority to meshes only, rather than meshes/textures couple ?same as 4 ?? My guess is: No.CheersBenjamin Bert
March 8, 201016 yr Author Thanks Bert for your post."Suggest you run a test with the process monitor running to see how much (RAM and VRAM) it loads on your system."I can't, i have only 2 Go of ram right now."same as 4 ?? My guess is: No."So i can say that the FSX engine sucks...CheersBenjamin
