Best low power graphics card for basic new PC and FSX

Featured Replies

Hi,I've just got a new Dell Inspiron 570 MT, it only has integrated graphics, (radeon HD4200) so I'm guessing I will need a video card to make FSX playable. As its only a basic PC, and I mainly use my PS3 for gaming I don't want to spend much, also I think I will be limited by the standard PSU (seems to be 300 watts) which rules out the better cards. The system specs are:Athlon II X2 240 (2.8Ghz)2 GB DDR3 (1066Mhz)Windows 7 Home PremiumI have been thinking of an ATI Radeon HD5450 , 5570, or 5670 ... any thoughts?and is there much advantage in going for the 1gb version over 512mb?thanks,Tim

I honestly wouldn't recommend that PC for FSX, it's pretty low spec for FS9 if you wanted to run it maxed out with high end payware and smooth performance. But regarding the GPU if you have a 32bit OS dont get a card with more then 512mb of ram.

I would suggest a Nvidia 9600GT 512MB.. there is also a low power version of this card. You are still going to have an entry level FSX system, so you'll have to lower the slidersa bit to make it enjoyable.
