Can't Save .cfg File

Featured Replies

I am unable to make changes to an aircraft .cfg file... Whenever I make changes in the .cfg file, and try to save it, I get a message that says "Unable to save file, check that the file name or path is correct"It says that when I click "save" or "save as". And I make sure that when I save the file, the suffix is .cfg... Has anyone else had this problem? Thank you for your help in advance!

I have the same problem. I believe it is a windows security feature. I just copy the config to my desktop, make the changes, and then copy it back in, overwriting the original.-hth

You can turn off UAC and/or grant the proper permissions to all folders and files that FS uses. No need to take the cfg file out to your desktop and move it back again. You are runing up against the security that Vista or Win 7 have built in.

how do you grant another user permission or whatever to modify fsx files???

1:  Are you using Windows Vista/Windows 7, and...

2:  Did you install FSX to it's default folder (Program Files (x86)), or did you create a different install folder?
