Auto thumbnail option missing

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,Can anyone confirm if the autothumbnail menu item in the Add-ons menu (installed using a program autothumbnail2 from Avsim) is still present in FSX with loading of the -8i/8f package? I'm sure many have this installed. For some reason this menu item is now missing from my FSX menu and I'm trying to figure out what system changes have been made lately, one of which is the latest 747 update.I tried re-installing autothumbnail2 and I get a C++ runtime error from the install shield. This is a great little tool for creating your own thumbnails from the FSX views very easily. Regards

Hi All,Problem solved! For anyone interested, I was getting a C++ library run time error running the setup.exe for this tool. When I looked into the EXE.XML file, there was an error. I simply renamed the .EXE file to EXE.OLD , deleted the install folder in Program Files it was trying to create and then re-ran setup.exe. Now the thumbnail menu item is back in the FSX menus!Regards,

I don't have that 8i/8f package but would suggest you use Notepad to check the contents of your EXE.xml file. I run XP and it is located here:C:\Documents and Settings\You User Name\Application Data\Microsoft\FSXMine looks like this:<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"><Descr>Launch</Descr><Filename>EXE.xml</Filename><Disabled>False</Disabled><Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad><Launch.Addon><Disabled>False</Disabled><ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad><Name>Autothumbnail</Name><Path>C:\Program Files\Autothumbnail\Autothumbnail.exe</Path></Launch.Addon></SimBase.Document>I suppose it is possible that other addon has made some changes to the exe.xml file.Might be worth checking anyway.
