Black runways: help!

Featured Replies

Several days after installing REX, blue screen and crash. "Kernel error...boot disc failure." After that, all hard runways and tarmac areas in FSX and FTX turned black. No all-grass airfields were affected. I've just installed Orbis PNW, and haveb the same problem. I've tried rebuilding the FSX cfg, running Repair in Acceleration, updating video drivers, handing the PC to a computer engineer, who found and killed a virus which presumably is/was a suspect. But still no cure for the black runways. Something must have corrupted textures somewhere. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Have you tried reinstalling the runway textures from REX?

Thanks for that. Sounds reasonable to me. But I have a tendency to screw up unless I know the abc of what to do. In this case I'm not sure, so if you could spell it out for me, that would be a big help.CheersPeter
