Instruments freezing problem

Featured Replies

Recently I have begun to get instrumentation freezing after I have interrupted a flight. If I "Pause" and for example go to "MAP" option and then un pause, the speedo, altometer and AP are frozen to the speed/alt that it was prior to the Pause. It is the same whether or not I use "Pause" or just go straight into an option without "pausing".I use FSX Go as my launch pad, but have also got the problem if I start FSX directly. I started noticing this after having been tweaking around with various cfg changes (BufferPools etc). My current cfg has NO really dramatic changes as far as settings are concerned: 2048,TBM=120 are only the real changes made. I dont think it is related to those settings. It really seems that interrupting the flight somehow pauses the flight and everything else like the instruments (normal) but only UNpauses the actual flight dynamics but not instruments.Hope the above is understandable, and that someone here can offer some advice. Thanks

I had a similar issue when opening the map, settings, instant replay ect. anything that was in the "alt" bar. what worked for me was setting explorer to be default since fsx is explorer based. Not sure if this will work for you but its worth checking...

Please expand... I dont understand "setting Explorer to be default". How and where? Are you referring to making Internet Explorer my default browser or are you referring to "Explorer" programme. If the latter I would be obliged with your help on how to do it.Thanks

internet explorer in start menu set program access and defaults. if IE is yyour defaut well I dont know what to say. but if its not I bet this fixes it. I read all the time no two systems are alike but it is a microsoft program and explorer based. I use firefox for browsing but have to open links and the like manually just so fsx will work right.let me know if this helps

Another thing you might check is to see that you have granted the FSX folder and all it's subfolders "full permissions".I suspect you have installed FSX in it's default location under Program Files and that subjects it to a host of "security" checks which are annoying to say the least. Installed ouside of Program files reduces the security issues significantly I understand (there are many posts on this subject).Hope you get it sorted out.
