March 24, 201016 yr Hi!I am interested in the PMDG 747-8 expansion but I am quite unsure about the registration process. I own the boxed version of the 747-400X that is published by Aerosoft. Unfortunately my DVD has become unreadable due to my own error. The 747 is installed an working though. If I buy the 747-8 expansion, will registration still be possible without the disk? Thank you very much in advance!
March 24, 201016 yr Hi Max, Please sign your posts with your full name per forum rules, thanks. If you have the queen installed now and is working then yes, the -8 will work without issue and you don't need the disc when installing the -8 (unless of course you didn't have it installed). I also have the disc version of the 747-400x. Of course though with a trashed disc I don't know any other thing to do than buy a new copy but maybe someone else knows better. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
March 25, 201016 yr Hey Dan!Thank you for the quick response! Sounds quite good what you say...Just to make sure that I understood you correctly: The 747-8 installer will not ask me to insert the 747-400 disk. Correct or not?Typing in the registration number would be no problem at all but I do not really want to spend 25
April 2, 201016 yr The -8 installer will ask you for your email and password, which should be the same as provided when you purchased the -400 and you account info in the pmdg ecommerence server. If you have different accounts you will need to ask pmdg support to eliminate one of them and put both products together in one account. It will not ask to insert a disk of any kind. Hope this helps. April 4, 201016 yr Thank you very much! That does help indeed!I don't have any PMDG-Account as all the products I got from them were boxed versions. So there should be no problem at all...
