March 27, 201016 yr Greetings all, when i am taxing to the active, usally behind behind traffic 9/10 the plane infront sticks on the taxiway and im left there for ages waiting to get on the runway, before i would go right through it but now i use fspassengers i cant. Im using justflight traffic 2005 and this happens at uk2000 Gatwick. Any ideas guys?Cheers,Chris Chris Howard
March 27, 201016 yr Hello again Chris,This sounds like a hold short node which is too far from the runway. In the case of UK2000 EGKK I think it is safe to open the AF2 file with AFCAD and run the fault finder.Regards,Ren René Bongers
March 27, 201016 yr Author Good morning Rene, your advice is always appreciated. Sorry to be a pain but would you please explain how i do this as im not the most experienced simmer around in terms of delving into this sort of thing.ThankyouChris Chris Howard
March 27, 201016 yr Chris,That's a known problem with that Gatwick scenery, here is a quick solution:http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Search...t&Go=SearchJust install the AF2 file and you're good to go. Onur K. Visit my FS blog: Clear Right...
March 27, 201016 yr My pleasure. Believe me, it's quite simple. Before you start, make a backup of your EGKK AF2 file (AF2_EGKK_UK2.bgl) and store it in a safe place.1. Get AFCAD2, it is probably here in the library, or (if your search bounces because of the library hack) in the library of Flightsim.com.2. For easy access make a shortcut to the exe file on your desktop.3. Open AFCAD and click the top left symbol (open). A new screen pops up and AFCAD automatically starts collecting all your installed airports.4. In the open space next to the 'search' button type EGKK and press the button.5. In the lower part of the screen you will most likely see two search results: one is the stock EGKK, the other is the UK2000 one, indicated as MOD. Select this file and press the OK button.6. You will now see the airport in AFCAD style. You can navigate with the arrow buttons of your keyboard and zoom in or out with the mouse wheel.7. Select 'Tools' at the top of the screen and then Fault finder. Uncheck the items you don't need. I suggest you leave only Hold short limits and Default start locations checked.8. The Fault finder will show you where the problems are (hold short nodes are shown in red). If there is indeed a wrongly placed node, you can move the node with the mouse pointer.9. Save the file. That's it.I hope this short guide is clear enough to help you solving your problem. AFCAD comes with an excellent manual though, so you should be OK anyhow. One word of warning: Do not open recently published airports like UK2000 EGCC or Aerosoft EHAM with AFCAD2; bad things will happen. I'm confident however that in the case of EGKK you're OK.Good luck and have a nice weekend.Ren René Bongers
March 27, 201016 yr Author Thankyou so much Rene, things like this i never had a clue about and now you have showed me something new to solve those fs mysteries. Thanks again for your time, enjoy your weekend,Chris Chris Howard
March 27, 201016 yr Edit: I have been beaten by Onur :( :( Your post is very imformative, Ren Onur K. Visit my FS blog: Clear Right...
March 27, 201016 yr Not sure of the exact filenames involved here, but if you do add a second AFCAD for EGKK you might want to remove or disable(rename the .bgl) the problem AFCAD first to prevent duplicates. :(
March 27, 201016 yr @ Chris and Onur: Thanks for your kind words guys!@ Mike: You are absolutely right, therefore the installation guidelines which come with the file Onur suggested, explicitly mention the removal of the original AF2 file before installing this one. Regards,Ren René Bongers
