March 29, 201016 yr Hi,it would be nice to have an option to suppress the initial weather download. If you fly most of the time with historical weather it saves a lot of time at startup.Kind regardsWolfgang Wolfgang Schroeder
March 29, 201016 yr Hi,I believe you have that option already! On the General Options Screen uncheck the Automatic Downloads box and click on the Save and Apply Icon. Now when you start ASE you will be in Offline Mode and ASE will use the last wx file it used in your previous session.
March 30, 201016 yr Now that is just wicked cool!! Thanks Jim, thumbs up. :( Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
March 30, 201016 yr Author Great! I've downloaded a historical weather and the automatic download is temporary enabled for the session so the weather is always in sync with my flight. Next time I started ASE the automatic download is disabled again, which saves my much time. Thanks for the hint!Wolfgang Wolfgang Schroeder
March 31, 201016 yr And a suggestion from my side:Yesterday I encountered 0 sm visibility at KBOS again. ASE (FS9) depicted it correctly. But: Somehow there is a problem with the depiction in the VC (level-D 767). Not possible to see the panel any more. What about an option to choose the min surface visibility to, let's say 0.1 nm? That should fix it. 0nm minimum is a bit too high for real CAT III, 0nm gives depiction problems. And I don't want to mess around with fsuipc... Cheers - Stefan Maus
April 1, 201016 yr Hi Steve,You would need to go to the Wx Config Screen and edit the METAR. A zero visibility is pretty rare, right now no stations are reporting zero vis.
April 1, 201016 yr Well, that would mean to interrupt the approach if I encounter those conditions, fumble around with the metar and then return. That's something I wanted to avoid.I'm just asking because I had 0 visibility for the fourth time within a couple of weeks... But if it's not possible to include this option it's still a great program. :( Cheers - Stefan Maus
