Planes not taking off

Featured Replies

I believe this topic may well have been covered elsewhere, however I am very confused and hugely frustrated and therefore felt it necessary to start a new thread.Whenever I get to the active runway the plane in front just gets stuck and doesn't move. Planes behind me disappear because of inactivity. Until I get to the active runway myself all traffic flows well but when i get close the plane due to take off next just gets stuck and sits half over the taxiway and half over the runway. This is not an AFCAD problem as it is happening at all airports even from different companys etc.I anticipate that you will tell me to rebuild the scenery database etc however i have done this but have become so confused by the markerways.exe????? etcplease help.Rich

"I anticipate that you will tell me to rebuild the scenery database etc however i have done this but have become so confused by the markerways.exe????? etc"makerwys.exe is downloaded (and you may as well get the current FSUIPC) from the links in the pinned topic at the forum head. makerwys is installed in your FS folder. fsuipc.dll now comes with a self installer and will overwrite the current one installed. It should install in your FS modules folder along with documentation. If the installer has a problem finding your FS folder keep setting the install folder options selection until you get to a browse choice where you can enter the folder. (You should also check this topic: http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?...e6a0a1f5f9255bc on the FSUIPC support forum.) If you are running VISTA or WIN 7 you should run as administrator and also set the installer to run as an admin. You don't run makerwys directly. You just run the the scenery database rebuild from within RC. If RC is not on your FS machine but on a networked client machine there are a couple of extra steps outlined in the manual. When running the scenery rebuild (FS must not be running) you should see a pop-up for makerwys.exe requiring an OK button. It will then start counting up airports and runways. It will eventually finish waiting for an OK. After the OK you will get a few RC pop-ups stating building rc5.csv and then a4.csv each requiring an OK from you. (rc5.csv will be renamed rc4.csv in the copying process.) After RC states a4.csv is finished I'd wait a minute. If you are running VISTA OR Win 7 be sure you are an admin when running the scenery rebuild. RC4 should be called up with a shortcut and that should have its property set up to run it as an admin. In your FS folder FS9.exe or FSX.exe and makerwys.exe should also have their program properties set to run as an admin. It is also best that FS have a shortcut set to run it as an administrator. What is happening is that the RC scenery database rebuild process automatically runs makerwys.exe in your FS folder. This creates a few data files in the FS folder. RC's process then copies these files and processes them to/in its own folder. RC in VISTA and Win 7 needs to be run as an admin by a user with admin rights as well so it can perform processes in other than its own folder. Finally be sure that when starting the scenery rebuild you properly indicate each time the full path to your FS folder. As far as a frozen AI in front of you while not the most realistic method as an emergency you can set-up a "traffic zapper" assigning a hot key for this function within FSUIPC. See the user FSUIPC documentation which the FSUIPC installer will place in your FS modules folder. To trouble shoot your frozen AI problem make a log as indicated at the forum head and send it to jd. Just run it from the RC Start and stop RC when the AI in front disappears and you get your line-up clearance and roll onto the runway. Also read this similar issue here. This does not appear to be common so tell us similarities in your FS version, Win version, and add-ons you are running:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=261869

To update this problem........with AI smooth not running etc etc only radar contact and FSX running everything works fine until i tune tower, all aircraft tuned to tower appear to stop immediately and then do not get any further instruction from RC.The markerrways.exe has been download from the sticky post at the top and placed in the FSX folder and then I have pressed rebuild scenery database button. What on earth can it be.I have no idea where to begin checking I have the correct FUSPIC.......and installing it is a mystery.

On 30MAR10 I see the current versions as:FSUIPC4 4.60 is for FSXFSUIPC 3.98 is for FS9Let's see what version you have in place now. Go into your FS folder then the modules folder with Win Explorer (My Computer). Right click on fsuipc.dll. Click on properties. Click on the version tab. This is what is in there now. Compare it to above. To install fsuipc. You have already downloaded fsuipc.zip. Unzip that to a new install folder such as C:\FSUIPC398. Look at the .pdf file in that folder for instructions. RC will do the registration part it needs when it runs but you might find the install instructions and other parts useful. In that new folder right click on the InstallFSUIPC.exe file and select Run As Administrator putting in the Administrator account name and password (I have XP so it might be slightly different.). I assume you have already logged in as an administrator into windows. It should automatically find your FS folder. If not do whatever option is necessary until you get to browse to your FS folder. After OKing the selection it should proceed with the install. When done go to your modules folder. Right click on FSUIPC.dll and select properties then the version tab. Insure it matches the current version in the first part. Now please answer also what version of Windows you are running. Then proceed with a log as I described earlier so we can see where the AI freeze freeze occurs. We'll take this one step at a time.Try this with a default aircraft at a busy default airport.

Many thanks for your help....i need it!Ok so my Windows version is windows 7I have sent a log with a desciption of my problem in more detail to the relevant address.I followed your instructions carefully for FSUIPC, I found that I had TWO .dll files.....I now have ensured that the latest version displayed above is there and is the only one. Also can I ask what should I have done when I was asked to register the FSUIPC? I have no purchased key. I thought I didnt need the payware?Rich

you do not have to pay for fsuipc.what version of makerwys.exe is in the fs9 directory? in the fsx directory?when you rebuild the database, you are doing it by clicking the button in rc, right? not manually running the .exe from the fs root directories.you have two rc directories, \rcv4 and \rcv4x? when you are running fsx, you are running the shortcut or the .exe from the \rcv4x directory, right? fs8 needs rcv4.exe from the rcv4 directory.you have to rebuild the fsx database when you run the rcv4.exe from the \rcv4x directory and click the rebuild button, the fs9 database by running the rcv4.exe from the \rcv4 directory and clicking the rebuild button.does this happen at a default airport with default scenery?i suspect, either the database is incorrect, and rc doesn't know where your scenery's runways and taxiways are. or the wrong .exe is being run with the wrong fs. lastly, an old makerwys.exe is not reading your scenery files correctly. i suppose your scenery config is out of whack, and i'm reading the default after the 3rd party scenery.trying a default airport with default scenery will eliminates that possibility.jd
