Activating a fuel pump

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,I'm trying to add an active fuel pump at 51WA, (Evergreen Sky Ranch.)I've added a fuel pump with Abacus EZ-Scenery.I added fueling with AFCAD at the airport....Airport Services..(Avgas, and Jetfuel under airport properties.)I still can't add fuel at the pump . I know I am doing something wrong, but I'm not sure what. :( Can someone tell me how, or give me a link that tells me how to turn on the pump?I get no change if I taxi to the pump, and set the brakes, and open the door. Thanks for any advice.

Thank you for the help David.I added a keyboard command in the assignments to do a quick fix. That worked great.I created a "fuel trigger" for the airport too. Your tutorial was very helpful. One line threw me off for a bit. "Example: 24x24_Fuel_Trigger_only_KTKI.xml"At first I named the xml file "24x24_Fuel_Trigger_only_51WA.xml"..( I forgot that files will add the file ext themselves when naming them.) I took out .xml from the name, and it worked fine.Once again your fine help is much appreciated. :(

What's the difference between fuel_trigger _only, and fuel_trigger_and_fuel_station xml file?Does the fuel_station.xml add an area for a hanger or such, besides the fueling at the pump, at a given airport?

Please review the tutorial again. As the "trigger" is considered an "object" which can be placed with specific coordinates, any other "object", such as a fuel station, can be combined in the one xml file and both items would then be placed at the same time. The fuel trigger only, is for use in cases where there is already a fuel station in place or when you want to make an area around a jetway at the terminal into a fuel trigger area.I tried to make that distiction clear in the tutorial.Hope that helps.

That's why I "nominated" OPA for "Flight Simmer" of the decade last year. When the question is really tuff, he always comes through. :( jerrycwo4

Thanks for the reply. I'll read the tutorial again. In my haste I probably missed something. I usually do.

Hi Jerry, I totally agree with you. He is very good, and thorough. He doesn't stop until he gets one through. :(

Thanks David,You did make the distinction clear. I just missed it. I just re-did the bgl I had created for 51WA with the fuel station and fuel trigger xml file you supply in the tutorial. It worked great. I uninstalled the gas pump I had put in with EZ-Scenery first. If I add a gas pump with EZ-scenery, and then put a fuel trigger next to it, could it create an error in the scenery. Just curious. :( Thanks for all the help.

It shouldn't create any problems - the trigger is just that - an invisible "green box" which can be placed anywhere. In any case, it is always "fun" just to experiment. In theory at least, you could have a fuel trigger near an old barn on a farm which has a grass strip and taxi close enough to it to get refueled. The possibilities are only limited by one's imagination. :(

It just came to me why you put the fuel station and trigger in the tutorial. That's for people that can't add their own pump.I certainly miss stuff in my haste. Imagination is a great thing to have, and use in lots of instances. Thanks for all the help :(
