Screenshots...capturing black screen

Featured Replies

I'm having some problems capturing screenshots recently. I don't typically take many screenshots, so I'm not sure exactly when this started. What is known is that screenshots used to work ok on this current computer/FSX installation. A number of things have been installed since then, as this was several months ago since the last time I tried. Now I'm finding that when I try capturing a screenshot, all that is captured is a black and blank screen. I've technically tried two different ways (but they're really about the same). First, pressing "print screen" and then pasting in to MS paint. The other is a program called "snapper" where you press "print screen" and it automatically pastes the image into a .jpg file for you.Any suggestions how I can get back to taking images of the actual FS environment? My best guess as to when this started was shortly after installing the EMB bloom mod. However, I've since deactivated these files (changed the extensions to .off, but left then in the folder in case I want them again later) and still have these problems. Thanks for any help.

I believe print screen will indeed render black screens. Take your screenshots with the "V" key. Also, if you get FRAPS, it will allow you to take screen shots with it, and save directly to jpg (or a number of other file formats)

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to try the "V" key, however print screen has worked before so that's why I'm a bit confused.

I had the same experience as you when trying PrintScreen (perhaps a mod we have installed is interfering?). Though I do have success with V, and with FRAPS.

With the latest nvidia driver, I am now having problems with the PRINT SCREEN command. It's globally, meaning not only in FS, but desktop etc.
