April 4, 201016 yr HiI just a complete fresh install of FSX on a new computer running windows 7-64. I let Fsx install where it wanted to install. It runs fine but now I am trying to add my old addon scenery I had in XP. I add it and FSx rebuilds the data base when I hit ok however the scenery cfg file in FSX is not changed or updated to reflect the new addon. I have turned off UAC and am running FSX with admin rights. Anyone have any ideas as to what is happening here?Don

Is the problem that they do not show up in FSX or just not in the cfg file? Generally we don't recommend installing FSX in the default location with Vista or Win7 because of the UAC issues. Turning it off should help but better is to have it installed away from the default location. Jon ------- Microsoft Flight Sim MVP Airport Design Editor FSDeveloper.com
April 4, 201016 yr Hi,The scenery.cfg file that gets updated is located in the ProgramData/Microsoft/FSX sub-directory, not the scenery.cfg file contained in the FSX directory. Are you looking at the correct config file?. Are you looking at the correct config file?.Thanks for the replys. I didnt realize there were so many cfg files. I can see Im on a steep learning curve here with windows7. I unhid the hidden files so now I can find the appropriate cfg. file. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.Don
