April 4, 201016 yr I have owned FSX for about 3 years, and knock on wood it has run pretty good. I have done hundreds of flights all over the world with both default and payware aircraft and scenery. So tonite as I am coming in on final for Long Beach in my default Lear 45 (after flying around southern california for 90 minutes), FSX comes to a stop. I get an error that says "Computer ran out of available memory, and to restart with different settings, scenery or traffic settings". I have never had this before. The one tweak I did 2 days ago was put the [bUFFERPOOLS] PoolSize=0 line in the FSX CFG, just to try it out. Most of the buffer pools thread is over my head (info overload), but this was an easy thing to try. I obviously don't know much about this stuff and was wondering if this might be why I got this error/crash for the first time ever? Or could it really mean what it says, (not enough memory). I know the CPU has 2 Gigs of Ram and my card is an 8800GTX with 768 megs. Anybody else have issues with the buffer pool tweak that resembles this one? I do think the tweak helped my FPS and made the LA area run smoother, at least for 1.5 hours anyway. Love Airplanes and American Muscle Cars
April 4, 201016 yr Hi,I have problems running BufferPools at zero (0), so I run bufferpools at 500000. You may want to try that setting and see what happens.
