Hey Chris: Here is your problem:- Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 @ 2666MHzTo run the settings I've highlighted with ######## below - you need to be running at at least 3.5 and preferably 4gig. That 280 gpu can keep up easily, -it's great - but the proc can't send enough information fast enough for the it to display. ******* talks of "balancing" the system, and this is where you're having issues. An i7 at 4.2 gig with an old 8800 or an ATI 1950X is the same thing in reverse. In your case - any of those settings will severely load a weak processor. Your traffic, clouds, water and LOD are the immediate killers. Yeah.. I think so, too. Have you tried moving the fsx.cfg to fsx.cfg_old? and letting FSX rebuild a new cfg file?

Hmmmmmm... :( I still think you'd be better off to get a new mobo and an i7-920, Chris. They are cheap and very o/c-able. My 950 blew me away when I first ran it with the old fs settings, but I can still make it groan at Seattle, but - thanks to ******* - I know how to allow for it, and so I modify the setup for that area and/or aircraft - like my Maddog.

Chrjs,Try FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.75 and remove SWAP_WAIT_TIMEOUTSince you have the Affinitymask set to 14, you dont need to worry with the above line impacting your frames.also, PLEASE lock your frames to a low value!! you have low-end hardware. try 20 FPS or 25 using an EXTERNAL frame limiter, but use UNLIMITED inside FSX and you'll surely see at least some difference. also, running (with your hardware) the complexity radius at 6.5 is not helping you. try to adjust your fsx.cfg more to your hardware.. you are pushing things way hard!

thanks *******,i noticed there are some more things corrupt in my setup so i'm reinstalling the whole thing right now. but i will try your advices for sure when i'm done. it is just so strange that everything seemed to be fine and suddenly i get these ugly blurries. furthermore, i got better frames ehen setting the sliders more to the right than to the left (at least when it comes to autogen + complexity) . strange world :( regards,chrjs
