FS2004 text distortion in flying lessons

Featured Replies

The text becomes very distorted when scrolling down. I have a Radeon 9700 Pro. Is anyone else having this problem and been able to resolve it? Thanks.

Yep, me too and I suspect a whole lotta other folks. I heard one guy say he fixed it by retrograding his drivers to Catalyst 3.2, but I don't know for sure if that's a fix for everyone. Let's hope ATI comes out with a new Cat set soon with fixes for this text problem and the flashing in FS2004.

Another solution is to switch to windowed mode. I also think if you disable both AA and AF in the driver options, this might be solved, but I'm not sure about this; you can give it a try.

Thanks, viewing the lessons in windows mode is a helpful work-around.I also just received an e-mail from Microsoft and their response confirms what Bill states above that it is a Radeon 9700 Pro driver issue. They recommend retrograding to the 3.2 catalyst drivers until ATI releases new drivers. Supposedely the 3.2 drivers also resolve the flashing menus. (I've decided not to retrograde due to potential issues with other games). Craig
