Stop black paint from reflecting?

Featured Replies

How do I get the section indicated by the arrow below, to not reflect? It should just look black.blackpaint.jpgShould that portion of the Alpha channel be coloured white? Does it have anything to do with the associated Specular file?

Are you using the original paintkit? If not , it might be usefull to use the original paintkit for the alpha-layer and the specular-map.Extraordinairy gloss points into the direction of having a to dark alpha indeed.Make this part of the alpha more bright and if that does not help go for experimenting with the specular-map.The easiest way is to take the spec-map from another livery wich does not give the problem. If you do that and the problem is still there I`ll bet its the alpha of the texture( diffuse)-map .Leen de JagerpsIf available ALWAYS work with the original paintkit, this also prevents you from unintended use of copyright-protected textures.

I'm using the F1 Mustang paint kit, and the original alphas. I tried painting those parts of the alpha white, no change. I then tried painting those sections in the spec black, also no change. In case it wasn't clear, the portion selected above was painted black by me, so I can't refer to the original spec and alpha files for that portion.Ok, it seems to be an FSRepaint problem.

No...If your picture posted is of the repaint in "FSRepaint'.....What you are seeing is the texture to simulate "Ice" on the boots....Jeff

Great answer Jeff , I did not think of that, I would have drawn the same conclusion after seeing the enginecovers, carpet , guy and the same phenomena showed at the windshields in FSRepaint.I did not realise the pic was taken in FSR and I do not know the model and its features. The strange shape of the (frosty) spots was puzzling me and I had no clue...whahahahahahaha.CheersLeen
