April 19, 201016 yr I find locking my frames at 35 gets rid of any stutters, setting mine to unlimited is what creates them. Best, Michael KDFW
April 22, 201016 yr I find locking my frames at 35 gets rid of any stutters, setting mine to unlimited is what creates them. That's what helps the machine I'm running right now. On my old box, "P4", I had the best results using "unlimited" frame rate. But not so on the new one I'm using now. If I use "unlimited" on this box, I get stutters. And they seem the worst when I'm on the ground taxiing. IE: I'd turn onto the runway, and get the chops.. Also the microstutters when flying. But when I rolled the frame rate back way back, it really smoothed things up quite a bit.I don't think FSX likes unlimited on these new more powerful machines that are coming out. Mark Keith
April 22, 201016 yr Set frames to unlimited in FSX and use FPS Limiter. Best of both worlds.Cheers,Noel. 11th Gen i9-11900K @ 3.5GHz | nVidia GeForce RTX 3080 | Corsair 64 GB RAM | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB | Asus 27" RoG G-Sync Track IR5 | Thrustmaster Warthog | CH Products Pedals
April 25, 201016 yr I tried FPS limiter with mixed results. It works as far as curing the frame ratedives, but when I use it, I seem to get more file load stutters. And the file loadstutters are worse than the micro stutters.. It doesn't happen very often, but seemsto happen more than when I don't use it. I seem to get the smoothest flights just using the built in FSX limiter alone. And I usually set mine to about 20 or 25. Yea, that's kind of low, but I'm onlyrunning a "medium" machine, and still using the built in ATI 4200 graphics until I get another video card. I'm hoping once I get a better video card I can bump up the minimum setting. And it's a possibility that FPS limiter would work better on my box once I getanother video card. In case anyone is wondering what I'm using, it's a AMD Phenom x2 555 clockedat 3.8 ghz at the moment. Only two cores.. I tried the other two cores and bothwere glitchy, so no cheap four cores for me.. :( Some are able to use the extracores.. Mine were bad though.. But I've been able to clock near 4 ghz with a stockfan. I run at 3.8 to give it a bit of a cooling overhead. It runs fairly well for an on board graphics card, but I'll be curious to see how itdoes with a good video card. Mark Keith
