May 2, 201016 yr Hello,I have already posted this message in a other forum .. but I usually don't put all my eggs in the same basket :)From somedays I have a FPS drop (short time) of 10 about every 10 seconds on a setting of 36 fixed FPSThis produce of course some stutters ...Somedays ago (and from longtime) this system was very stable (like a rock in any sceneries) at 36 FPS and fluid like the stream of a riverSo I investigatedResult:All is as always fluid (36 FPS rock) until I open the GPS window. When open the phenomena begin. After closing the GPS window .. the phenomena stay in force. If I change again of aircraft all return normal until I trigger the GPS ..This happen in 2D or VC panel of all planes (default or addon's freewares or paywares)This phenomena happen also in any views (internal or external)The GPS I use from age is the default like this one in C172 [Window02]size_mm=456,378window_size=0.5position=8BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0VISIBLE=0ident=GPS_PANELgauge00=fs9gps!gps_500, 0,0No changes in my hardware and don't remember had added any significant files from more than a week... (checked the dates of files)Searched those forums with no positives results.Fresh FS9.cfg give no results.EDITEDOther tests show it's no FPS problems if the radio stack window open or radio chatter window open or any other incrusted view.Only the two default window GPS give problemOtherwise the GPS is good functionning .. no problems for flight planning etc ...I checked also the fonts (who knows ?) but nothing recently added there ...The DLL's GPS related are good ...Still investigateFilemon analyse.....This is the Filemon analyse .. and it show many errors about the gauge fs9gps.CAB and files inside this CABThose events are corresponding in the timeline of the FPS drop observed in the game ...So for be sure I take a fresh copy of this CAB from the FS2004 DISK N

May 2, 201016 yr Hello,Thank's for take care I post under the entire panel.cfg of the F15 CoralI see nothing referencing to a 640 or 540 CAB.For reminder all the panels (all aircrafts) loaded show the same GPS problem (intermittent FPS drop)Additionaly .. I don't have in my gauges folder any 540.CAB or 640.CABMore on my tests ..For be sure I deinstalled all my security (antivirus .. etc) and also put all the FS2004 sliders to the left and put all graphic card filters off .. but this don't helped with the prob. // Coral-FLT F-15J Eagle Panel 1.0 for FS2004// http://flightinfo.ens.ne.jp/coral/////////////////////////////// 2D Palel Start May 2, 201016 yr Moderator In this CAB are some XML and BMP files but nothing as 640But in my gauges folder I have a folder named 640 with many BMP's in.That then is your problem! There should be no such folder!FS2002 XML "gauges" had two sub-folders inside them to hold low-resolution artwork ../640 and hi-resolution artwork ../1024. The artwork would be used based on the user's screen resolution settings.Somehow you've managed to improperly uncab some file or another and left an entire ../640 folder full of artwork intact.FS2004 and FSX XML "gauges" do not use that scheme...The "fs9gps.cab" file however does not have separate ../640 and ../1024 sub-folders at all, but instead all artwork (.bmp files) are in the same folder as the .xml scripts. May 2, 201016 yr Hello,Thank's .. That then is your problem! There should be no such folder!Anyways .. this folder 640 (as the 1024 indeed) is in my install from the year 2007 (when this FS2004 was installed on this hard disk and are dated created the 1 March 2007)All those years I never suffered the actual problem.Anyways I removed this folder 640 (and 1024) .. but nothing change and the problem stay. What I try now to understand is why when I open the GPS panel it's a call for such 640 and why it's a call first for fs9gps instead a call for fs9gps.CABThe call in the panel is right as FS9.exe check first in the panel and when find nothing .. FS9.exe go search in the gauges folder .. but why call fs9gps\640 ?C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\AIRCRAFT\PROJECT AIRBUS 319\panel\fs9gps\640 PATH NOT FOUND Attributes: Error Regards.Gus.

May 2, 201016 yr Hello,Thank's. Honestly, you are chasing down a red-herring (or a "ghost")...Maybe you can name a "ghost" the thing who made drop every 10 seconds my framerate from 36 to 26 ... when GPS panel is open ... :) as I have not yet found it.And it's a "young ghost" :) as it only appears some days ago .. out a 3 years FS2004 install .. lol.The exorcism is in progress ...PSWill post a movie for the St Thomas and unbelievers :)Regards.Gus.
May 2, 201016 yr Hello,The "ghost" movie (better download for best quality - 3.7 MB)Check FPShttp://www.4shared.com/video/x04wfGB9/Ghost.htmlRegards.Gus.
May 4, 201016 yr Hello,Problem solved ... :( I reinstalled FS2004 from a backup (matter of 2 hours .. not the big deal) and all run well.So unfortunately I dind't find the culprit ... and stay with my wonders about the sudden show of this "ghost" ... Next time .. maybe Regards.Gus
