SF.260 performance in FS2K4 and contrails.

Featured Replies

Hi fellow flightsim fans!I have not yet got a copy of FS2K4 (not released here until the 11), but I have some pressing questions about Microsoft's latest release:1. I have been reading about FDE problems with the SF.260. What are they?2. Do contrails still magically appear at 30,000 ft or have they been made more realistic? Thanks!!James

Can't address the first question of your post but I can happily assure you that contrails have been seen by me as low as FL 240. Guess the programmers realized that colder ambient temperatures are enountered below FL300.

I'm not Rob Young, but I can tell you the SF260 looks and flys great in FS2004. There may be some small FDE differences, but I am to busy checking out the scenery to notice. Rob has posted here that stalls aren't quit right anymore, but he is working on an update for us. I can't comment on contrails as I have spent my flight time much closer to the ground than 24,000.Tony

Yeah they appear anywhere depending on temp but they are flat as a pancake! LOL they look terrible. Another think I noticed is they don't just go jetting off to the site in a croswind. They go straight back, then drift. They are so ugly though, that I took the 2002 contrail.fx file and replaced the 2004 file, but now I get one contrail that goes straight back and another that curves back then down to the ground LOL...

The SF 260 works just fine for me. Rob Young has already stated that he plans to release an update, but the only thing that does not work for me in FS9 is the interior lighting in the VC.
