Dicsonnect

Featured Replies

Hi, I am running FSX networked with my laptop. All was well for a very long time until recently. I noticed FSX developed a problem where it disconnects from my laptop. No error messages or notices of any kind. FSUIPC dependant addons run OK. Therefore it is safe to say the problem is once again with Simconnect. Diconnect happens when I crash for example. Still looking if other triggers exist. Is this a known issue? Thanks.

I should add that both computers are on XP SP2. Today I found additional trigger. Shutting down and restarting FSX will cause lost connection. The only way I found to restore connection is to restart the computer running FSX. If some one knows how to fix this please let me know. Thank you.

Oh man - I feel your pain. Out of my entire setup this is the only problem I really want to get worked out. Everything else works great. I have the same identical problem.I have posted the question all over... no responses. It's a tricky bugger.I am running FSX + Acceleration on Windows7 (64) and simconnect remotely on XP (SP3)http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20189http://www.molitor-home.de/fs/forum/viewto...f=23&t=1277http://www.tasoftware.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=854.0I have been running simconnect like a champ for several applications - PlanG, FSMap, FSeconomy. Here is my issue..If I close or (crash) FSX for any particular reason, my simconnect ports are locked / blocked which doesn't allow the applications noted above to reconnect FSX once FSX has restarted. I can however, reboot the FSX machine (and not the remote machine) and presto... all applications connect right back up.I have no idea why it does this or what causes these ports to remain shut down when FSX is restarted. I am not wholly sure that the ports are still open but I know that a reboot of the FSX machine corrects the problem so I only suspect that something tells the remote applications that the ports are not available.Does any one have suggestions on what to try to reopen these ports on the FSX machine without a reboot of the FSX machine? I have tried the usual suspects - firewall off / A/V off etc...For fun, here is my simconnect.xml<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?><SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0"><Descr>SimConnect</Descr><Filename>SimConnect.xml</Filename><Disabled>False</Disabled><SimConnect.Comm><Disabled>False</Disabled><Protocol>IPv4</Protocol><Scope>global</Scope><Address>192.168.1.50</Address><Port>4507</Port><MaxClients>64</MaxClients><MaxRecvSize>4096</MaxRecvSize><DisableNagle>False</DisableNagle></SimConnect.Comm><SimConnect.Comm><Disabled>False</Disabled><Protocol>IPv4</Protocol><Scope>global</Scope><Address>192.168.1.50</Address><Port>500</Port><MaxClients>64</MaxClients><MaxRecvSize>4096</MaxRecvSize><DisableNagle>False</DisableNagle></SimConnect.Comm><SimConnect.Comm><Disabled>False</Disabled><Protocol>IPv4</Protocol><Scope>global</Scope><Address>192.168.1.50</Address><Port>6700</Port><MaxClients>64</MaxClients><MaxRecvSize>4096</MaxRecvSize><DisableNagle>False</DisableNagle></SimConnect.Comm><SimConnect.Comm><Disabled>True</Disabled><Protocol>IPv4</Protocol><Scope>local</Scope><MaxClients>64</MaxClients><Address>127.0.0.1</Address><Port>0</Port></SimConnect.Comm></SimBase.Document>Perhaps something to do with the router security settings? All suggestions on what to possible try are very much appreciated. It's getting a tad annoying to reboot every time I am ready to start a new session of FSX.Thanks a lot in advance-Benjamin.

May I join the club.Quite recently (after installing W 7 64 bits) I am experiencing from time to time (more often now than 4 weeks ago) the absence of connection between the FSX applications of my 2 PC. (Client is Vista 32 bits).I checked and adjusted the workgroup names, the simconnect.xml, cfg, ini. I renamed the PCs and workgroup. When I start FSX with FSUIPC and the client PC with WideFS I amy have the connection or not. When not the AITraffic test program shows no connection.I need to restart once OR SEVERAL times the computers to get the connection. This is very frustrating. And me too have no answer to this problem.

I think I found a solution that works for my set up anyways :) but no real answer why.The solution is I have to re-connect the network drives every time either laptop or fsx pc is turned off. After re-connecting drives problem goes away. Strange...but it works :) Hope it will work for you too. Cheers.
