May 22, 201016 yr I have experience of the Saitek M Panel and the Radio Stack and am finding out that they work well, no, very well and increasingly am finding many larger aircraft than just mere GA aircraft can be flown with them.Does anyone know if the VR Insight M panel (which incorporates the radio frequency option) so that I could set ILS as well as the Heading and Altitude and Approach Hold, flaps, trim, from the one unit. This might mean that I could use just one unit rather than two when flying a journey employing just AP and ILS frequencies. Many thanks
September 27, 201015 yr Since my first efforts with the Saitek Multi Panel and the Radio/Comm Panel I was very happy with the combination they provided. My question about the M Panel of the VR Insight portfolio was a slow and tortuous one trial by suffering!!!After struggling to understand the Vr Insight M panel I am now of the opinion that Saitek offer, with the two units above, to be far more user-friendly than the VR version called M Panel. Although the M Panel is cheaper and initially seems to provide the functions of the 2 Saitek units it is limited solely to the aircraft contained in the FSX Default hangar. The cost of the two Saitek units is about £210 combined while the VR Insight M Panel is roughly £140.Thus far the Saitek panels will happily link up with the heading fixes, altitude, AutoPilot, Nav 1 use for ILS frequencies. So for me Saitek wins hands down but if VR Insight are sure I'm wrong please communicate with me. I'm happy to have my experience reversed!!
November 28, 201015 yr Hi,I read that the saitek radio panel is equipped with poor quality knobs which make radio tuning delicate. Is it true? My gallery: http://s1075.photobucket.com/albums/w430/yankeegolf/
December 6, 201015 yr I just got the VRinsight M panel for FS9. Its usaability with FSX is not that different. It's much cheaper than the Saitek equivalent and has the advantage of an all in one hardware. So you can tune Nav\Com and swap them to active mode. Also you have the AP with all the functions. Transponder, DME, Barometer settings-it's all there. There's a gear and flap control. It's pretty easy to operate. Sits nice on the desk and doesn't topple over. Sturdy construction and compact. As far as aircraft compatibility goes. It covers your default a/c.Also it works with Level D 767, PMDG 737, MD 11, and the 747. The Wilco airbuses too I think.Other payware a/c that I can use the M panel with are the PSS fleet, Feelthere ERJs and others. However with these the M panel can handle the nav\com features, not the AP-it\s not meant to either.Since I fly a lot with VATSIM I find the Com control very handy. The gear/flaps contols works with all a/c ,in my experience. This also frees up three butons on my Thrustmaster HOTAS T stick.Hope this helpsEytan Ornstein
February 22, 201115 yr VR-Insight =reliability, functionality, simplicity, I love this little Multi-Function GadgetYair
March 9, 201115 yr According to the review, the developer is not too happy about the review......they shouldn't be surprised! Its junk products like this that give FS addons a bad name. We dont always expect PMDG type stuff but using ported models, no vc (2011?) and default gauges is not acceptable for the price charged.wholesale crystal necklace
