May 25, 201016 yr Hi everyone,Just wanted to know if payware/freeware sceneries affects the ILS frequencies in the game? Thanks in advance.
May 25, 201016 yr It really depends on the scenery. An updated AFCAD file could have a new frequency if it had been changed in the real world (you could even do this yourself with Lee Swordy's AFCAD program). Some sceneries replace just the default buildings, yet leave everything else unchanged. Other sceneries are complete with new buildings and realigned runways and taxiways along with any possibly changed ILS frequencies and others add new runways and ILS frequencies to them. Always read the ReadMe file (can be read through the ZipDive! function) for freeware files in the file library or the specifications page of payware scenery to see if any changes are made to such. May 25, 201016 yr Very occasionally add-ons can cause problems with ILS alignment or make AI aircraft taxi in weird places, for example, I discovered that the Malta airport scenery which I reviewed for AVSIM some time ago initially had the ILS misaligned on the main runway, making you land on the grass beside the runway, and AI aircraft would undershoot their landings too. But it was not a fault with the scenery, it had been caused by a clash with an AFCAD file from Ultimate Traffic, and required me to delete some files to get things working. So if there are clashes of that kind, there is usually a solution, and the chances are someone will already have found out what that solution is, which is why it is worth checking product forums and read me notes for sceneries.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
May 25, 201016 yr Author Thanks for the responses. I installed FSGlobal 2010 and I havent been able to make an approach since. It seems like all of the ILS alignments are off.
