hi guys,i have posted this topic a little around avsim so apologies if u have seen it already..i keep getting regular FSX crashes, using usepools=0 and a GTX480,there hasnt been much driver support yet but is this the reason do you think?Problem signature:P1: fsx.exeP2: 10.0.61472.0P3: 475e17d3P4: nvd3dum.dllP5: 8.17.11.9775P6: 4bd8c840P7: c0000005P8: 0031415cP9:P10:Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61472.0, time stamp: 0x475e17d3Faulting module name: nvd3dum.dll, version: 8.17.11.9775, time stamp: 0x4bd8c840Exception code: 0xc0000005Fault offset: 0x0031415cFaulting process id: 0xcd4Faulting application start time: 0x01cafdad2009b674Faulting application path: E:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exeFaulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\nvd3dum.dllReport Id: c06e5e47-69a2-11df-8ffe-001b2128d6ec

First, follow my steps in the thread linked above for the driver installation. Second, stop using the BP=0 mod, and instead set your [bUFFERPOOLS] section as follows:[bUFFERPOOLS]UsePools=1RejectThreshold=262144 //this sets a 256KB cap, any graphics data larger than this size is sent straight to the GPU, data below it goes to the bufferpool PoolSize=2097152 //defines a 2MB bufferpool, you can play with this setting if you likeFor the RejectThreshold, you can try 128KB (131072) or 96KB (98304) for a little more performance, but the lower you go, the closer you are getting to not running a bufferpool, which can be unstable. I noticed no frame rate difference between using no bufferpool and the setup above, the GTX 480 is simply that fast, with or without a bufferpool. Also, make sure your are not overclocking your GTX 480 too high (try 800 core, 1600 shader, 1900 memory), don't use the ENB Series bloom effect (atleast for now, you are trying to get stable), and if you are overclocking the card, set the fan to 65-70%.My GTX 480 is rock steady following these guidelines. The ENB series mod apparently has some sort of conflict with the HIGHMEMFIX=1 edit. NickN suggests that if using ENB with this edit, set FSX to run in XP SP3 compatability mode, but you might lose a bit of performance in doing so. Finally, use the 257.15 driver and I suggest NickN's modification that allows the nhancer settings to be used via the nvidia control panel. Here is the LINK. According to him, the GTX 480 likes a higher TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT between 80-120, I set mine to 100 and I am certainly seeing very good smoothness. I followed all of his instructions except that I run a prerender limit of 1.My fsx.cfg edits now stand as follows combined with unlimited frames in FSX/external FPS limiter set to 25 fps, all FSX related apps set to run on core0 using PRIO, and FSX set to "high" priority using PRIO as well:[JOBSCHEDULER]AffinityMask=14[bUFFERPOOLS]UsePools=1RejectThreshold=262144 PoolSize=2097152 [GRAPHICS]HIGHMEMFIX=1ALLOW_SHADER_30=1SHADER_CACHE_VERSION=5 //increment this number to rebuild the shader cacheTEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=100ForceFullScreenVSync=1ForceWindowedVSync=1[TERRAIN]MAX_ASYNC_BATCHING_JOBS=2MIN_DETAIL_TEXTURE_LEVEL=21MAX_DETAIL_TEXTURE_LEVEL=21

Try replacing the UsePools=0 line with:RejectThreshold=262144And see how the performance and stability is.
