May 29, 201016 yr Hi GuysBefore purchasing memory to suit my ASUS P7P55D-E LX mobo / i5-750 combo, I thought it best to review ASUS's QVL to ensure compatibility. My requirements is 2 x GB DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800, CL <= 8, <= 1.65V. However, after reviewing the QVL, I'm struggling to find any RAM here in the UK that's actually on the list. Interestingly, although the mobo manual clearly states Intel's requirement for memory voltage not to exceed 1.65V, the QVL lists 1.9V memory...Assuming that I don't exceed 1.65V, would you guys recommend purchasing memory that's not on the QVL?Here are a couple of possible candidates that are within my budget that I'm considering:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/180490http://www.ebuyer.com/product/192535Any help would be much appreciatedRegardsGary
June 1, 201016 yr Note that the i7 750 can't run RAM at 1600 unless it's overclocked (its RAM mulitplier is max at 1333). Beyond that, the G.Skill kit should be fine for that mobo plus it's the fastest at cas 7. Definately don't get that OCZ kit made for AMD builds, but this OCZ kit should work fine: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/173108. I use two of these OCZ kits in my P7P55D (see my sig) with zero problems (I've adjusted their speed and timings for my OC). The asus QVL calls out the triple channel version of this OCZ kit, which IMO is rather silly for a P55 mobo. Ignor those kits listed over 1.65v; they are probably there as 'backwards compatible' (but unsafe as you mentioned).
