May 30, 201016 yr I noticed that between those two modes, there is a huge performance impact when using cloudy situations.I don't seem to be able to "exclude" clouds from the hard effect of 2x2 supersampling. There is too much performance impact with 2x2 SS, but aircraft models look way better with it.Is there maybe some way to get more performance out of it?
May 30, 201016 yr I upgraded from a gtx 285 to a gtx 480. Now I'm able to run 8sQ. I was not able to before. Even when I was not using the BP=0 tweak. MSFS
May 30, 201016 yr I guess Q stands for Quality, and what it does it implicates 2x2 Supersampling & 2x Multisampling vs 2x1 Supersampling & 4x Multisampling in 8xS mode. And 2x2 SS is what eats away my GPU. And I hate the looks on 8xS (I compare the PMDGs 747-800i), the aircraft get jagged edges, shimmering and such. Very disturbing for me.I already thought of selling my GTX285 and getting the GTX480, but I'm a bit reluctant due to three things: price, temperature and sound. They say it gets very hot and very loud fan, about 70% speed at idle, which is kinda weird. I am running watercooling and could mount a watercooler on it, though that would mean another 90€ up. Total of about 590€. Ouch. Even if I had luck selling my 285 + watercooler for 350€.

June 3, 201016 yr How about bloom? Can you turn on bloom with a 480?Thanks,RHYes. But, I don't like the way it looks. For an understanding of AA modes visit:http://www.nhancer.com/?dat=d_AA#combined MSFS
