Wings of Prey

Featured Replies

I'm certain that I'm late with this one. I recently discovered the demo and I'm simply blown away by the graphics and how smooth the sim is. I'm wishing that FSX was as smooth and as beautiful as Wings of Prey. This is coming from someone who does most of his flying in the Orbx world. I'm impressed! For those who have the full version, what are your opinions?

** is great fun. Ive had since it was released for the PC. It is however, ported from an Xbox game and it shows in the gameplay. Its very arcade like with air starts and timed missions. Those things kill it for me. The grapics are great and it runs smooth. Maps are very small. Fly 10 mins in any direction and your off the map. The only map with airfields is Dover. The developers are creating a new game which i belive uses the same engine. They are aware of **'s shortcomings with the PC crowd, so my guess is, this one will be more sim like. Time will tell.

It runs beautifully and looks great too, but it is too much of an arcade game for my liking. Good for a quick blast, and has some great effects, such as oil and glycol on your windscreen if you take a hit. But it is far too easy to shoot down aircraft. If downing Ju-88s and He-111s was that easy, I could have won the Battle of Britain all by myself in a single afternoon LOLAl
