Stabilizer trim moves down without my interference

Featured Replies

Hi everybody, I have a problem with the 737-800. Here's the thing:The autopilot is controlling the plane during approach and I let it stabilize the plane on the localizer and glide slope. As soon as the autopilot has done it I deactivate it and fly the plane manually (together with throttle). Everything is fine until approx. 100 feet above the ground - suddenly the plane banks steeply to the left and stabilizer trim automatically moves down very rapidly. I can regain control of bank, however the trim keeps moving down until touchdown despite my trying to move it up... Touchdowns are reaaally hard :)I experienced it quite long time ago for the first time, however it occurred very rarely so it wasn't a big deal. Unfortunately, lately it happens almost all the time when I am landing.Any ideas what may cause the problem??

You sure all your keyboard keys are free? Meaning they are not stuck down, you aren't touching the trim buttons... if not, try this;Start up a flight at the end of the runway and don't program anything in the FMC or autopilot. Take off and do a full circuit (without autopilot) then when you come back around to land, see if you still get the problem this time without having programmed anything for autopilot or FMC. Remember though, this time YOU will have to control the trim settings with no aid for A/P!By the way, just a quick thought as I was writing this out, make sure you have the proper settings in the "ALT / AIRCRAFT / REALISM". That has a bad habit of causing a few problems I've noticed. Also, make sure you have the up-to-date version of the PMDG.Let me know how it goes after you have tried that out.Stephen

Funny (weird more like it), I saw this problem for the first time last night. I was in a FSX default plane when it happened, the Beech Baron 58. I looked down and my trim just kept spinning. I check all my controllers and keyboard and they were fine. I check in windows calibration and there were no key/button presses anywhere.I loaded it up earlier and it was fine.Strange...Also guys, full names to your posts in this forum please, thanks.http://forum.avsim.net/topic/245586-you-must-sign-your-full-real-name-to-posts-to-use-this-forum-posts-without-names-will-be-deleted/
