Plane "jumping" effect.

Featured Replies

Hey,First of all, i'd like to say hello to everyone because im new here SO, my problem is conected to "plane jumping". I know that this sounds wierd, here's some info about it.Everytime i choose an additional plane (Like Airbus A380, Boeing 777, F22 or Mirage) it slitghtly "jumps" when in the air or on the ground. For example when i taxi and switch cameras, my plane jumps like 1 meter up and then goes down on the ground again. Same thing when i take off. It's kinda annoying. Everytime i take off with for example Airbus A380, it jumps like 3-5 times. Just like it was landing 5 times from 1-2 meter height. This doesn't happen when i use basic planes. Does anyone know what causes this?I tried reinstalling the game, but it's still the same.I've got some planes from Wilco and Aerosoft and even those "jump"..

Cycling through all views, including tower view causes the terrain mesh to reload. This causes elevation changes and the "jumping" aircraft issue.

Can it be somehow fixed? And if the terrain is reloading, why is this "jumping" thing not happening while flying on stock airplanes? Why does it only affect additional planes?

the stock aircraft are simple in their design (graphically and systems detail). the computer CPU isn't being asked to do more than draw FS. now ... addon aircraft you listed have system deail. some have LOTS of detail. this demands CPU cycles. as a result less resources are available to 'draw' the FS ground/world. in most cases the panel/plane take priority so the ground is drawn after the aircraft is rendered ... above or below ground level ... as FS increases the 'world detail'. result is the 'hop' as FS then moves the aircraft to match the re-re-re-drawn ground/world.try reducing FS scenery detail sliders.--

Hi Venax, this jumping problem sometimes appears because of a wrong center of gravity point. To test this, you need to open the aircraft.cfg and search for the [contact_points] section, look for an entry static_cg_height = Now edit the value behind it, let

You Sir, are the winner.I pushed back the scenery sliders a bit. The texture ain't so sharp anymore, but hell, who cares. It works!I can finally enjoy my brand new A380 on VatSim.Thanks scoob!

You can adjust the other sliders--I had the same problem with my terrain mesh resolution maxed out--I knocked the slider over and it r fixed the issue completely.
