July 19, 201015 yr Author The EVGA Backplates for the reference 480 GTX are now intermittently available for purchase for $19.99 from EVGA itself. These backplates, like the high-flow brackets released before them, should fit other identical 480 GTX units from other manufacturers. You can ask to be notified when additional stock arrives. Sources indicate that they help to substantially decrease the video card temperatures. You can order here:EVGA PART NUMBER M020-00-000163I hope this helps.Stephen

July 20, 201015 yr Author Stephen - How is your Mushkin Redline memory working out for you?Hi Robert,Thank you for asking. I am not sure what I think of them yet. Because of instability and blue screen crashes (after I put in the new ram) I had to lower my CPU clock speeds from 4.34ghz which put the ram at 1667mhz to 4.2ghz which runs the ram at 1603mhz. I raised the ram voltage to 1.66 which seems to have stabilized everything at that speed. The mushkin did not seem to be able to overclock that small amount and still keep the timings of 6-8-6-24 and remain stable. That is OK for now for it is a hot summer and ambient temperatures in here are high anyway, but come cooler days I am going to want to raise the overclock back up. In order to do so it would seem that I will have to loosen the timings too. I don't know what timings numbers to change it to for me to again raise the CPU speed, so experimentation will be in order again. Any suggestions? In any case at 1600mhz they are flawless.Stephen
