Yeah I'll try and get a second hand GTS 250 (watching a few on ebay at the moment).CPU cooler has arrived and I'll try and fit it this weekend. I have received and installed my RAM and it has helped. However do I need to change any settings in the BIOS - I had a look at a utility program - think it might have been CPU-Z and it said it was only running at <1000MhZ rather than 1666.thanksJon

You need to increase the memory multiplier or OC your CPU. If you OC your CPU, the memory clock will also go up. Search for a OCing guide on the Internet.
