July 14, 201015 yr Hi!Well, I've already asked some questions and got some great advice on which kind of computer hardware I should get (and finally) I'm going to get it. My budget is about 1600€ (1500€ is what I'd like to pay) and that means all parts will be bought from the same company in Finland, that will assemble them into a computer. So I'd like to have your opinions on this computer.Motherboard: Asus P6X58D-E [(229€) Cheap, high scores in reviews, LGA1366 (Gulftown 32nm support), SATA 6Gb/s and USB 3.0] http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=gFBKfNyhppW9tDbBCPU: Intel I7 930 [(295€) 2,8GHz]GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 470 SuperClocked+ [(379€) Improved cooling, 10 year warranty and overclocked)] http://www.evga.com/products/moreinfo.asp?...Series%20FamilyRAM: Team Group [(149€) Cheap. Lifetime Warranty, 3*2GB, 1600MHz and 8-8-8-24-2T] http://www.teamgroup.com.tw/teamgroup/en/p...1&pl2_id=49PSU: Corsair 750W (139€) http://www.corsair.com/products/tx/default.aspxHDD: Western Digital 640GB [(60€) SATA, 3GB/S 5400-7200RPM and 64MB Cache] http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=779Case: Antec Three Hundred Ultimate Gamer Case (49,90€) http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/global/product.php?id=MjQ=+WLAN card (31€)+Optical disk drive (21€)+Assembling and driver and OS installation (59€+35€)And of course Windows 7 64 bit Home premium (119€)!The total sum would be 1565,90€.So do you think this is a good system or should I change something? Grateful for all opinions.Regars MagunsP.S. It wouldn't be exclusively for FSX but also for the upcoming Storm of War Battle of Britain by 1C:Maddox (Developer of IL2 Sturmovik) and because of that the GPU is a bit more expensive.
July 14, 201015 yr HelloGet rid of that bit and spend the difference on some quality memory, cheap memory = a world of painSeriously just buy the parts and put it together yourself, its fun and it is very easy.35 euro to install an OS is robbery, How hard is it to put the DVD into the drive and watch the install happen automatically?Do it this first time and you will be totally independant of these computer stores foreverI had it there if there would be a need to install some drivers for the GPU that would be hard, but I guess I can do that myself. Would Patriot (187
July 14, 201015 yr HelloInstalling the drivers for the GPU is simply clicking on an Icon and clicking >next on each screen that pops upThat Patriot Ram is a better choice than the first lot that's for sure. All the help you will need is here in this forum
July 14, 201015 yr Hi SF22,Al in all, pretty good choices. I have a suggestion to add to some of the others mentioned here. Perhaps you may wish to switch your harddrive from the WD Green 640g 64 cache model to the WD Black 640g cache model for a smoother data flow. I use it for my primary drive and it is excellent!WD Black 640GB Harddrive 64 CacheStephen
July 15, 201015 yr I think I'll go with the system change to an I7 920, fit a Noctua cooler and overclock and later buy an SSD as Mathijs Kok suggested at the Aerosoft forum.
